We work in partnership with water companies, consultants, contractors and specialists to drive innovation and improvement across a wide range of projects including major water systems, water treatment, power generation, and infrastructure. CAPABILITIES: Fluid Mixing BHR Group has a worldwide reputation for fluid mixing expertise and related knowhow in rheology and fluid behaviour. Our understanding of the flow behaviour of complex fluids such as polymers, gels, colloidal dispersions, concentrated suspensions, emulsions, foams, micellar and liquid-crystal phases and their relevance to the appropriate application can be applied to the design, optimisation and scale-up of single and multiphase mixing processes and systems across a range of industrial sectors. SECTORS: Process Engineering Our fluid mixing expertise helps our clients reduce time to market, minimise downtime and reduce production costs. We work with companies in the process industries over a vast array of individual products and processes. From fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals to personal care products and food & beverage, our specialist knowledge helps our clients optimise and validate their processes. FACILITIES: Testing We have a number of dedicated, adaptable test facilities and rigs available for immediate use and we also develop tailored test programmes for clients. As independent engineering consultants, clients are assured of total impartiality in their testing regimes and results. Our facilities can be used or adapted for qualification and acceptance testing against international, industrial and company standards. We can advise on compliance and regime testing in order to meet BSI and ISO test standards, many of which we helped author and promote. SECTORS: Energy & Power Meeting safety standards for products in complex, high pressure environments is critically important. We work with operators and manufacturers in subsea oil & gas, nuclear, aerospace and defence to ensure that their fluid power systems are robust and operationally reliable. We provide impartial qualification testing, validation and product development., using a range of test facilities that can physically replicate the range of on-site working and environmental conditions. We can model flow assurance, thermal management, high pressure and high temperature applications. CAPABILITES: Modelling We have a large test facility dedicated to scaled physical modelling of complex structures. By studying the flow behaviour at scale, plant design can be optimised and performance verified to international standards by our team of specialist fluid engineers, prior to construction . Numerical and computational modelling used in conjunction with physical scale models provides an effective and validated analysis of the performance of a system, design or adaptation. At BHR, we typically use CFD and physical modelling together to provide complimentary data from which we generate optimum solutions.
